New faces should lead to changes for Arkansas athletics

Abstract:
Usually, when there is a changing of the guard, the new guard institutes a series of changes that will ultimately help define his legacy.

For new Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long, those changes already include the firing of one football coach and the hiring of another....

Nice article, there's just a few things that are overlooked in them. You might be looking at a student's point of view that is originally from fayetteville but there are a lot of student from all over the state. A lot of students look forward to those games b/c it is closer to family and many people like traveling to those games. Also, you don't have to be a student or alumni to be a fan or donor. I agree that it doesn't make total sense to have two games in little rock but I think that it we should at least have one game a year there. There have been many historical games played there and I think it's a tradition that doesn't need to be overlooked.

People just dont understand the atmosphere in War memorial stadium, not to mention the only team to beat us in little rock was LSU, and we all know how good they are. I think we should embrace the fact that people from all over the state will go to Fayetteville, or follow the Hogs to Little Rock. If you've ever been there for a game, the ground shakes you can feel the excitement in the air its unlike any stadium ive ever been in. Why would you want to get rid of something that is done soley for the Razorback fans who cant afford to come to fayetteville to see the the HOGS!

WMS is a awesome atmosphere for football!Yes RRS is nice, but the atmosphere is not the same. The UofA has sold out to corporate venues and it really hurts the atmosphere at RRS.You can also keep that "if it wasn't for the students"bull crap to yourself.NCAA div.1 football has not been about the student for over 20 years. It's about the almighty dollar, that's what drives college athletics.I've always thought why don't they build a 80,000 seat capacity stadium in Little Rock. The Hogs' would sell it out every time they came.

In 1995, The Green Bay Packers had to have been a little anxious about not playing in Milwaukee 4 games per year and bringing all home games, well, home. After 62 years, they did so. How has it worked out? Bring all games to RRS please. It not only makes dollars, it makes sense.
