No real compulsion for detective novel

Author Jonathan Kellerman has been a well-established author for some time. In "Compulsion" is the 22nd novel in Kellerman's detective series, continuing the tale of Alex Delaware, who is a psychologist working with the LAPD.

Working in tandem with detective Milo Sturg's, the pair is called to investigate several ?unusual murders. The only apparent link between the murders is the use of an expensive car seen in the vicinity of the crimes. ?As time progresses, Delaware and his partner begin to suspect that the murderer is playing a game with them and his victims.

?Following a series of rather lengthy interviews and leads, the pair ?begins to close in on the killer. Just as they think they have uncovered the truth, the killer runs, leaving them with an ?unexpected manhunt. Together, they must combine the pieces of the ?puzzle to ensure that no more innocent lives will be taken.

Although Kellerman has clearly established a readership with his series, new readers might be slightly disappointed by the slow pace. While the plot is well written, much of the relies on interviews and blind alleys.

Those who enjoy Kellerman's work will be able to locate this book at the UA bookstore on its release date, March 25th.
