Arkansas tenant rights lacking, non-profit offers advice

Many UA students also rent living spaces off-campus. Tensions can arise between the tenant and the landlord, but legally, there is not much a tenant in Arkansas can do as these tensions escalate.

ASG Election expenditures reduction act re-introduced

A bill titled The Election Expenditures Reduction Act of 2007 - 2.0, was re-introduced at Tuesday's Associated Student Government meeting.

The bill seeks to reduce the amount of donations and personal funds allowed for use in ASG Executive campaigns to $1,250 for general elections and an additional $500 in case of a run-off.… Post the First Comment

Scooter club raises money for the Children's House of NWA

The Fayetteville Revolution Scooter Club will raffle off a Lindhai Aeolus 150 scooter for the Children's House charity, a center for child abuse and neglect victims.

Report shows increase in burglaries and decrease in theft

Since 2002, there has been an increase in reported burglaries and a steady decrease in reported larcenies on campus, according to the 2006 Cleary Report recently released by the UA Police Department.

Larceny is simply theft, but burglary is defined as entering a building with the intent to commit some kind of crime, said Lt. Gary Crain, public information officer for the UAPD. … Post the First Comment

UA music professor involved in hit-and-run accident
