After slipping up against Mississippi in their SEC opener, the Arkansas Lady'Back soccer team rebounded on Sunday and defeated Mississippi State 2-0 at Lady'Back Field.
With the shutout, the Lady 'Backs now have eight shutouts on the year, matching the school record set in 1991 and 1996.
"This was a really tough test for a young team," said Arkansas head coach Gordon Henderson. "We scored a very good goal to go up 1-0, and that allowed us to dictate the pace of the game. We had good ball movement, and I was very pleased with the attitude of our players. There was never any panic, even though we went through a couple of lulls on the field."
Georgia and Tennessee will now visit Lady'Back Field this weekend, as Arkansas continues its stretch of home games.
The win over Mississippi State puts the Lady'Backs at 8-3-0 overall and 1-1-0 in SEC play.
