Senate approves nominees for JudiciaryASG
The Associated Student Government Senate approved nine nominees to serve on the ASG Judiciary Tuesday.
The nominees were chosen from a pool of applicants and interviewed by the Judiciary Committee before nominations were presented for Senate approval. Judiciary members this year include three freshmen - Ryan Walters, Michael Beasley and Erica Bar - each of whom expressed enthusiasm for becoming involved with student government early in their undergraduate careers.… Post the First Comment |
Man stabbed at ZZ Top concertUAPD
Regardless of how the band sounded, at least one man at the ZZ Top concert last Friday had a bad night.
The UA Police Department continues to investigate a stabbing that occurred after the concert Friday. The stabbing happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. as both the suspect and the victim were leaving the concert, police said. … Post the First Comment |
Aphasia victims find a voice in UA group
Stroke and disease can sometimes cripple a person's ability to use and understand basic language. But a UA communication group offers a way for people with aphasia, a severe communication disorder, to re-establish who they are on their own terms.
"Aphasia is a language disorder, meaning it affects our ability to understand or use our words, vocabulary, grammar and all the pieces that go into framing a message," said Barbara Shadden, a professor at the College of Education and Health Professions.… Post the First Comment |
UA receives high praise from higher learning commission
A 12-member commission called UA a first-rate institution and gave the university's overall education process high praise.

Sprinkler causes damage in fraternity house
A fire extinguisher sprinkler head broke off, sounded a fire alarm and caused water damage in a room at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house slightly after 9 p.m. Wednesday night, the UA Police Department spokesperson said.
