The Lady'Backs will head to Alabama to take on Alabama (8-4-1, 1-2-1 Southeastern Conference) today at 7:00 p.m. and will then will play Auburn (7-3-1, 3-1-0 SEC) at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Lady'Backs (8-4-1, 1-2-1 SEC) will have to overcome mounting injuries as the team could be without six players this weekend.

Freshman defender Clarie Hakim broke her nose, and the mask she has to wear for protection limits her visibility, resulting in her playing time being limited this weekend, said Arkansas head coach Gordon Henderson. Kim Schleif and Camille Flores are doubtful to play this weekend, Henderson said.

Sarah Gwisdala will not make the trip to Alabama while Beth McVean and Kelly O'Conner, who is in a tie for most goals on the team, have already been ruled out for the season, Henderson said.

"These next couple of weeks will be very, very important for us," Henderson said. "We have lost important players due to injuries ,and I think the key for the rest of SEC play will be how quickly we can get back to health.

"The key this weekend will be to see where we are with Schleif and Flores," Henderson said. "Both players have been playing very well. Schleif played great against Georgia and was injured in the first 15 minutes of that match, as was Flores."

The Lady'Backs are entering a stretch of the season where the team will be playing teams that are in similar standings in the SEC and injuries are not helping, but the members of the team are pulling for one another, Henderson said.

"Four important games are coming up because the next four teams we are playing are similar in the point standings in the SEC, and playing away from home in the SEC is just brutal," Henderson said. "We are looking forward to the games, and these injuries have not brought the team down. This is a very close group of players. This team generally believes they are good enough, and that was evident by the first four SEC games we played at home."

Alabama will be a difficult game as the team is always hard-working and dangerous in many aspects of the game, Henderson said.

"Alabama has a very young squad, but the starting line-up they have is an experienced group," Henderson said. "Alabama is always a hard-working team. They are always interesting with their set plays, and they are very good in the air, so we must be very careful defending free and corner kicks."

Against Auburn, the Lady'Backs will find a team that has a similar playing style, Henderson said.

"We have similar ways that we play because we both like to possess the ball, and we both like to build," Henderson said. "It is a match up we've done well with in the past ,and I don't think we are going down there with the attitude to just keep the game tight. With the attitude shift in the team this year, we are thinking, 'let's go win.'"
