The Lady Razorback soccer team will take on No. 23 Florida at 7 p.m. at Lady'Back field with hopes to improve its chances at landing a spot in the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
The Lady'Backs (8-8-1, 1-6-1 SEC) have just two regular season games after tomorrow's contest, so they will look to play Florida (9-4-2, 5-2 SEC) tough in hopes for a postseason appearance, and Arkansas head coach Gordon Henderson believes his squad will give Florida a good game.
"Florida is obviously a really good team as they are nationally ranked," Henderson said. "We'll need to be at our best, and it should be a good competitive game because we've played a lot of good team tough at home."
The Lady'Backs are currently tied for last place in SEC standings but still have a chance to make it into the SEC Tournament if they start winning down the stretch.
"We are going to try to win our last three games if we can," Henderson said. "We realize that will be tough, but we have nothing to lose, so we'll have the mindset of 'let's just go out and play.'"
The Lady'Backs are still without four players because of season-ending injuries but are welcoming back some players to the squad that will make an impact, Henderson said.
"Starting to get Allison Harris back is huge," Henderson said. "She rehabbed a lot faster than we thought, but she is not 100 percent yet. Kim Schleif is not quite there yet. She is getting better day by day."
Also returning to the team over the weekend was Camille Flores, but she is still not 100 percent. Whitney Allison was a game-time scratch for Sunday's game because of a back injury, but will look to play this weekend, Henderson said.
With the return of injured players, the Lady'Backs will now enjoy depth coming off the bench during these last three games, Henderson said.
"The emphasis of having depth off the bench and how much that means to the team is important," Henderson said. "I think we take that for granted when you have a full squad of 18 to 20 players, but since we've been playing 14 to 16 players it will make a huge difference. Players play more minutes due to the injuries, and they get dinged up just a little bit more."
