Arkansas forced seven turnovers and back-up quarterback Nathan Emert filled in most of the game as the Razorbacks beat Florida International 58-10 Saturday in front of a small crowd at Reynolds Razorback Stadium, extending the team's losing streak to 20 games.

Starting quarterback Casey Dick suffered a concussion in the second quarter with Arkansas holding a 24-0 lead when Emert came off the bench to lead the Razorbacks. Emert finished the game 13-of-25 passing for 154 yards and a 13-yard touchdown to senior Marcus Monk just before halftime.

"I thought he had a good first half," Arkansas offensive coordinator David Lee said of Emert's performance. "I thought he came off the bench good and cold but heated up right away. He threw a tremendous pass to Peyton Hillis. He put it in the only place it could be caught. He missed some things in the second half I'd like to see him hit, but for the most part he came in and played good."

Dick was 4-of-6 for 36 yards and an interception before sustaining the injury. He is expected to return Saturday when the Razorbacks host South Carolina.

Monk, making his first start since undergoing two knee surgeries in the preseason, caught two passes on the day for 19 yards and his 25th career touchdown.

"It was so good to get him back because he didn't look so good Tuesday and Wednesday," Lee said. "The plan was to practice him Tuesday and Wednesday and give him Thursday off. We worked him out before the game, and Tuesday and Wednesday he didn't look that good. He looked faster today. To have two catches is monumental."

Lee said the Razorback coaches wanted to give Monk playing time before the South Carolina game.

"I wanted this to be his first game to get those catches and get some hits out of the way," Lee said. "Now all of that is behind him, mentally."

Emert's play and Monk's return seemed to overshadow Arkansas' biggest scoring threat of the game - junior running back Darren McFadden.

McFadden entered the game needing 68 yards to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark for the third consecutive season.
