Arkansas petitions NCAA for Mallett eligibility

Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long said Tuesday the school plans to petition the NCAA for immediate eligibility on behalf of Ryan Mallett.

Mallett, who transferred to Arkansas from Michigan Jan. 14, would have to sit out the 2008 season per NCAA transferring rules, which state a student-athlete isn't eligible to play for one year when transferring from one Division I-A school to another.… Post the First Comment

Weems earns SEC award

Arkansas senior forward Sonny Weems has been named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week after helping the Razorbacks knock off a pair of ranked teams last week.

Arkansas ready for first signing day with Petrino at helm

Wednesday is National Signing Day across the country. First-year Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino will announce his first class of recruits at the school later today.
