Israeli-Palestinian conflict affects everyone, students and professors say

An Israeli Supreme Court ruling declared the wall is not illegal in principle but that the route must be changed "to optimize the balance between security and humanitarian concerns," according to the Web site.
As for whether the wall is working, Swedenburg said there are fewer Israeli deaths, but the wall causes deaths in other ways. For example, many Palestinians need to get to hospitals on Israeli land and die on the way because they might spend hours at checkpoints, he said.
"People are dying," Abu Hamdan said. "We have the tools to change this, so why not? With knowledge comes power."
