One of her larger works references the locations of sources of music composed by female composers. The book is titled "Say Can You Deny Me: A Guide to Surviving Music by Women from the 16th through the 18th Centuries" and was published by the UA Press in 1994, according to the press release.

Because of the high demand to borrow her performance materials, Jackson started the ClarNan publishing company to reproduce her works, according to the press release.

The name is derived by a combination of three important female figures in music. Clara Wieck Schumann was a pianist and composer; Nannerl Mozart was the prodigal sister of Wolfgang Mozart; and Nannette Stein Streicher built Beethoven's favorite pianos, Jackson said.

"It would be a shame not to make use of such an opportunity to use [Jackson's] music and her expertise," Yoes said.

The combination of talent and history is sure to make for a fantastic performance at tonight's recital.

Admission for the event is free and all students and the public are invited to attend.

For more information on tonight's recital, contact the music department at (479) 575-4701.

Jackson's work can be found and ordered through the company's Web site, www.clarnan.com.
