The Arkansas Lady'Back softball game split a pair of 3-2 decisions with No. 11 Oklahoma Monday.
Pitching was at a premium on a night where senior Katy Henry and sophomore Miranda Dixon pitched two gems for the Lady'Backs.
Henry, who recorded a win in the first game of the night, allowed two earned runs with six strike outs in seven innings of work while Dixon pitched eight innings, allowing only three hits and no earned runs.
"Pitching was phenomenal," Arkansas head coach Jamie Pinkerton said. "It was two of the finer performances since February. [Henry] pitched really well and scattered hits. She made one mistake to a hitter that a lot of people make mistakes to, and we had a big enough lead to survive it.
"[Dixon] pitched one of the better if not the best game of the year, and it was tough luck we were not able to come up with a win. But to hold an offensive team like Oklahoma to three hits, it gives us momentum going into the weekend."
The second game came down to a play at the plate where Okalahoma was able to put a good throw home as it gunned down senior Dayna Huckabee, who was trying to sweep the two-game series.
But Arkansas didn't get down on itself after the close loss as the team thought it should have won, Pinkerton said.
"They thought they should have won the game. The attitude after the game was that on that given day we were better than Oklahoma, and I thought they did escaped," Pinkerton said. "We played extremely well and could have won both games."
Arkansas will look to carry that enthusiasm into tomorrow where it will face off against Kansas, Pinkerton said.
The Lady'Backs and Jayhawks will play a twin-bill at 3 p.m., and 5 p.m.

Junior Aurelija Miseviciute set a school record Sunday for most wins in a season with victory No. 45 over Mississippi State.
"It's a great honor and a great achievement," Miseviciute said. "It gives me extra motivation to play hard and to finish out the season strong."
Miseviciute, ranked No. 1 in the nation, won 6-2, 6-2 in a match that helped the Lady'Backs clinch the Southeastern Conference Western Division title for the first time in school history.
The No. 14 Lady'Backs will take on LSU Saturday on the road, but will do so without head coach Michael Hegarty, who will be attending his father's funeral in Australia.
"Before coach left, he told us to be our own coaches on the court and play as hard as we usually do, and we will do that for him," Miseviciute said.
